**Our Lockport location is moving in June.  Our 81 Walnut Street location does NOT have laundry and showers currently.  But we will at our new location.

At our 81 Walnut Street in Lockport location, we welcome people at risk and/or people experiencing homelessness – providing access to a drop-in center.   This center serves as a safe space for people to drop-in and/or spend their day (w/light refreshments, access to technology, activities, programming, outside provider access and linkage to educational/vocational resources onsite).  New and gently used items such as clothing, boots, shoes, blankets, etc. are kept onsite and distributed.  Prepackaged food and canned goods are kept onsite for emergency situations.  There are also shower and laundry services onsite.   This engagement / low barrier environment has helped people to feel welcome and cared about which is producing positive outcomes to a vulnerable population.

We have staff onsite to support with navigating benefits, housing, transportation, providers, case management and other resources needed to survive.  Save the Michaels serves as an access point for WNY’s Continuum of Care (CoC) completing assessment tools used for Coordinated Entry.  The Coordinated Entry process evaluates and connects those most in need in the community with the most appropriate available resources for their situation as swiftly as possible.

Our outreach team completes street outreach in Eastern Niagara County, creating and building relationships with those in need.  Our goal is to meet the immediate needs of the unsheltered and connect them with emergency shelter service, housing and/or emergency health services.  Our team also participates in HAWNY’s annual Point in Time (PIT) count of sheltered and unsheltered homeless in the Niagara County area.
